Anwar Ibrahim Sodomy Case Day 3

KUALA LUMPUR The second visit to the condominium where the incident took place today but this time to the control room where the CCTV recording was taken.

It is learn that the second trip is needed as Anwar and his counsel were not present when the trial judge and the prosecuting team viewed the control room on Thursday.


Anwar’s lawyer S.N. Nair, told reporters that the second site visit would be carried out once the prosecution closed its examination-in-chief with Mohd Saiful today (Friday).


He had said that if the prosecution complete its examination on Saiful today, the defence team would start its cross-examination on Monday, Feb 8.


Saiful is believed to have shown the trial judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah where exactly the act took place at the apartment on June 26, 2008.



He did this in the presence of Anwar, his defence lawyers and Solicitor-General II Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden, who is leading the prosecution.


11.15am   : The second visit to Desa Damansara
11.10am   :The judges are telling that they did not see any contempt in front Utusan Malaysia, a picture that featuring Saiful pointing to the bed in the room where the sodomy took place.
11.00am   : The CCTV recording showed that Saiful is entering and leaving the condominium on the day of the incident took place.
10.55am   : Reporters and photographers camp out at Desa Damansara Condominium in preparation for another court visit.
10.50am   : The doctor in Pusrawi Hospital knows that Saiful has been sodomised  before the examination was completed 
10.45am   : Saiful says Anwar gave him the black slacks as a gift
10.40am   : Two pairs or black and grey underwear, a green G2000 shirt, a black slacks and a tube of KY   lubricant given to the police.
10.10am   : FRU and police trucks with a water cannon arrive at court ahead of a planned protest march by Anwar's supporters after Friday prayers at 2pm from Masjid Wilayah.
9.45am    : Trial starts with accuser Saiful Bukhari verifying oral swabs in a container that was taken from him.
9.43am    : Anwar’s other daughters arrive. Things are a little quiet with no supporters around. Despite that  there is still heavy police presence.
9.38am    : Lead defence counsel Karpal Singh arrives with son Gobind Singh Deo.
9.28am    : Anwar Ibrahim arrives with his wife and one of his daughters.
